An overwater villa on the South Malé atoll, reached by a thirty-minute speedboat rather than a seaplane — which means no four-hour wait at the Malé lounge and no daylight-only transfer window.
The resort has a house reef you can snorkel from the villa steps. Beyond that: a dolphin cruise at dusk, a private sandbank dinner, and a half-day of snorkelling at the atoll's outer points.
Half board is included and the alcohol is not — the Maldives taxes it heavily and pretending otherwise inflates the headline price. We would rather show you the real number.

Met at Velana International and transferred by speedboat, about thirty minutes. Check into the overwater villa, welcome arrangement in the room. Afternoon in the lagoon; dinner at the main restaurant.
Guided house-reef snorkel in the morning — turtles and reef sharks are common here. Afternoon free. In the evening, a private dinner on a sandbank a short boat ride out, with lights and a waiter who then leaves you alone.
Half-day boat out to two outer snorkelling points on the atoll rim. Afternoon at the spa or the lagoon. At 17:30, the sunset dolphin cruise — spinner dolphins are resident in these waters year-round.
Deliberately unscheduled. Kayaks and paddleboards are complimentary; the spa, the diving centre and a Malé half-day are all bookable on the morning. Candlelit beach dinner in the evening.
Breakfast, late checkout where availability allows, and the speedboat back to Velana in time for the flight.

Return speedboat between Velana International and the resort jetty, roughly thirty minutes each way and unaffected by the seaplane's daylight-only schedule. Movement on the island is on foot or by bicycle.

We landed at 19:00 and were in the villa by 20:15. Friends on a seaplane resort waited until the next morning. Honest pricing too — they told us upfront what the alcohol would cost rather than letting us find out at checkout.
